Mikos did a Herding Instinct Test on Saturday and had so much fun! It was amazing to see him take to it and have so much fun. We were surprised that he was quiet for the whole activity, no barking! We laughed that he was busy running through the mud to herd but jumped over the one puddle to keep from getting his feet wet!! It was so great to watch, what an awesome sport! He also passed his Canine Good Neighbor test an hour later, so what a great day for our young boy!!
 
Sounds like he is a true all-around sheltie! Do you have any video or pictures from his success?

I would love to see a video of a dog taking a Herding Instinct Test. I may see if there are any posted on Youtube. I have never seen such an event, and would be interested in seeing what they do.
 
Oh he looks like he's having so much fun! I can't believe they didn't let you take video. That's the best part. I have video of my collie taking her test and it's just so fantastic to see them 'turn on'.

I took Clancy for an instinct test last fall but he was frightened of those big wooly things and spent the entire time hiding behind me (yeah, his career as a guard dog is in serious question!)
 
What a wonderful day he had and you had the pleasure of watching. Would be fun to do. Don't think we have anything like that around here.

I would really love to look into this in my area as well. I think my dogs would have potential.....although I am not sure if they would be able to completely "get it" since they seem to have trouble with my goats :smile2:
