This is the first chance I've had to catch up with the forum since we got home from our trip. Busy, busy!
Yep, Lerwick and I went up to Ohio to help my sister move (well, I went to help her move, Lerwick went along for the ride). Mike had to stay back home in TN and work... but on the bright side, at least he didn't have to help with the move! Moving is horrible... whether it's your move, or you're just helping someone else... so, I was very glad to have planned a little distraction for my sister and me... a Sheltie Meet Up! My sister lives about 20 minutes away from Ashley, so we arranged a little meet-up at Ashley's house.
We had a great time. It's so nice to get to put faces with names, and meet the lovely people we interact with here on the forum. Of course, it goes without saying, it is always great to spend time with extra Shelties!
Lerwick was a little uneasy at first, but he settled in fairly quickly. We were fortunate that the dogs next door weren't outside, so we could hang out in the back yard without Bentley having to do border patrol the entire time (he did have to tell off a couple dogs barking in the next county from time to time, though). Lerwick was doing his usual "I want to play fetch, but there are other dogs running around me" routine, where he abandons the ball/toy and veers off as soon as another dog comes within 10 feet of him. But once Ashley brought out the BRB (big red ball), Lerwick decided he didn't care that there were other dogs running around him, he was having the BEST DAY EVER.
