Minnie spent last night in the hospital, she's fine, very scary!

I agree! and maybe s glass of wine or two with that bubble bath!
I agree you can't stop everything from happening in cases like this. Just thank God she recovered.
Like Cindy mentioned, my heart was racing also. Gezzz... these little ones can give us such a fright!

Give her a soft pat and hope she never tries that again!
Instead of wine it will have to be coffee, the way I used to drink I'd end up drowned in the bathtub, lol!

Oh Karen, I am so sorry you and Minne had to go through this. Glenn is right; even at our best and most vigilant, our dogs will sometimes get into things they shouldn't. Thank heaven you were watching and saw it or you would not have known what caused her symptoms! I'm so glad she's stable and doing OK. Get some rest today and give Minnie a pat for me. :hugs

not sure a like is what I should have clicked but glad that she's ok and recovered quickly in the ER.
when Cran got into something last fall, we never did find out what it was but he spent days in the ER and then a few more with my vet.........
since he was with my other 3 and my petsitter's 4, we couldn't figure out what he could have gotten that no one else got into.......

Too scary!!!! One night in the ER was bad enough!

So glad she is ok--I will just add to the don't beat yourself up too bad sentiment. Koko ate the whole rat poison block those idiots chucked over their fence a few years back before I could get to him. So terrifying driving to an ER vet 20 miles away with a poisoned dog! My bill was close to 2K also. So I feel your pain both personal and pocketbook!

Holy cow Karen! Very glad to hear the end result that Minnie is OK but I can just imagine your terror. It's true - they will snap stuff up sometimes before we can stop them. Faith grabbed a fishhook with some bait on it that kids had left by the creek. Luckily I saw it when it happened and dove on her to remove it before she could swallow it.

Friends had their dog suddenly dive off the trail into the bushes and snack on something - turned out he got into some marijuana and was very ill for a while, big vet bill also.

Hugs to you and pats to Minnie.

How awful! We are so lucky the 24 hour emergency vet place is so close to us! It costs two hundred just to be seen, but this place has to make money to keep their doors open

Scary, We're going to the beach Sunday, my friend is going with her pup, she'll help me watch Minnie

So sorry to read you had to go through all that! To repeat what everyone has said, no matter how hard you try or how good a parent you are they always manage to do something. I watch Monty like a hawk and he still chews things and climbs places every day.
Vet prices are crazy as well, I'm at £4139 with Monty currently for his recent illness, even with insurance I've got to pay £1,200.
Rest up and enjoy that coffee, you've earned it , pats and hugs from Monty and I :hugs
