Missing from Nova Scotia, Bandit

Yes, he is frequently featured in the Nova Scotia lost dog network, the people there are amazing.

Linda, I am going to message you, but have you ever considered asking Silvia Jay, from voice4dogs (she also wrote the book 'Dump Dog') if she has time to kindly try searching the area with her tracking dogs? She teaches tracking (and I am hoping to enter her next workshop anyhow)...
If you haven't and don't mind I want to hit her up with your story, as she is a good friend of my agility instructor... she was willing to go search for that lost Boston terrier in Tatamagouche not too long ago, when another close friend asked her... so let me try that!!
 
I've never heard of her, but yes, for sure! If you can contact her, please do! I was wondering how I would go about finding someone with tracking dogs, this would be great! Yes, the NS Lost Dog Network is amazing, the info, ideas, assistance, emotional support, they are truly a blessing, I don't know what I would have done without them and the many people I have 'met' through their facebook page. In fact, it was them that directed me to this site, I was having a bit of a cry (ok, a big cry!) online one night, and they sent me the link to Aspen's story on here, which blew me away. I sent the link to several people. And the story on their site about Odie, the blind border collie that was being taken care of by a black bear, made me cry all over again, but that was tears of joy!

Thanks, I've been praying every day. You know how wicked fast these dogs are, every sighting except one has said they weren't sure, because whatever they saw ran so fast into the woods, they weren't able to get a good look. But the last one, last week, there was swamp on both sides of the road, so he wasn't able to get into hiding as quick, that was a very good sighting. That sighting is now a week old, and 3 days ago there were a bunch of 4 wheelers and a helicopter in that area looking for 2 young men who were lost in the woods overnight (found safely, thank God!), so I hope Bandit is still there, but this activity could have scared him away, I'm not sure. The NS Lost Dog Network did send me contact info for a man with tracking dogs, a university professor, but he isn't keen on doing this (said he did it once, it 'opened the floodgates' and he thinks he made a mistake doing it that one time). His dogs are mostly in northern Nova Scotia tracking coyotes, which he studies. But I did get a lot of useful info from him, I was very scared the coyotes would go after Bandit, he told me they certainly could, but very unlikely. That was actually quite reassuring.

A week after that good sighting, there was a possible sighting, 11pm on Nov 4, a woman had just gotten off work at a nursing home in Falmouth and thought she saw him by the Falmouth Elementary School, but again, she wasn't sure. It was dark & she said from the back she saw quite a bit of black, and his back is quite black. She described how tall, and it was right on. I sat out in that area the next evening for hours and put some bait out (did this the evening before in the 'good sighting' area), but nothing came along, not even a raccoon or a stray cat. The last couple days have seen some high winds and a lot of rain in Nova Scotia, but I know that in the Falmouth area, there are at least a couple farms that keep barn doors open and put out food and milk every night for stray cats, so I know that even in really bad weather he can find food and shelter.
The weather is very nice today, I'm soon leaving work, so am going back to that area to replace the weather worn posters, and to keep looking. I really appreciate everyone's thoughts and prayers and comments, it all really helps to keep me going.
 
Bless you Linda. I know how exhauseted mentally and physically you must be! And poor Bandit. Special prayers for you & him: Dear Lord, we know you watch even the smallest sparrow so we know you are watching Bandit. Please keep him safe & help him find his momma. She loves and misses him so much. Just wrap your loving arms around her & lead her to her baby. Amen
 
im so sorry you still havent been able to catch him yet. at least there are still sightings of him and a place he can go for food and shelter if needed. praying for his safe and speedy return home!
