MISSING: Georgetown KY - FOUND SAFE!

Unfortunately, Monet is no longer home safe. Last night, I lost grip on his retractable leash at my apartment. Needless to say... Monet has now been missing for 14 hours. I am in utter shock. I can't believe I have lost him for a second time. I cried for hours. I shouldn't have used the retractable leash... I had been meaning to stop. We searched and searched on foot but found nothing, and no one else has seen him. I live off a very busy road. I just hope he is ok and not trapped. I keep hoping maybe he will show up at my door tonight like he did last time...

The one saving grace is he does have a collar with tags and my number on it. The bad news is he has his leash on...

I've walked and driven for hours. I put out flyers and looked through subdivisions and cemeteries. I'm fixing to put an ad in the newspaper.

I could really use your prayers. It makes me think I don't deserve to have a dog...

Accidents happen to all of us and some dogs are simply houdini with fur! We had a dog when I was a child who could get out the front door no matter what we tried. So please don't feel guilty.

I'm sure you are worried sick. I'll be sending good thoughts your way and hoping Monet will be home soon!

Here are some updated pictures of Monet

You have probably already thought of this, but all of the vet offices in my area allow you to post up "lost and found" dog flyers in the waiting room. Stupid as it may seem you might also ask the vet if they have your dog. If somebody brings a lost dog to our vet's office and the dog is chipped they will contact you to let you know they have your dog. Home Again has free flyers you can print with your dog's picture on them to take with you (I know this, because Fluffy's membership is due again!)

When Rose, my friend Jennifer's dog, was lost, the pound actually had her. :rolleyes2: They said they knew it had to belong to somebody, because she was too chubby and looked well taken care of.

HOWEVER.

When she called the pound, they told her they did not have a shetland sheepdog. They didn't know what it was. So instead of calling I would personally go in with a flyer, if you can.

Thanks, I just can't stop kicking myself. I went to one vets office, I'll go to some others tomorrow. I left a message at the shelter and no one called me back... I'll try actually visiting.

Another random thing - Rose was not in the front with the other dogs. They had put her back, because they knew she belonged to somebody, and that somebody would come for her. So be sure they look in the back, too!

Hopefully Mr Monet is back on the porch in the morning. He looks like such a great happy guy and it sounded like he was settling in. Hopefully he has settled in and realizes where home is now.

I sure hope so. I'm praying furiously... I've set canned food out with some good roasted chicken on it.

Apparently someone else lost their dog in the apartment complex as well. I saw the dog this morning but it ran off before I could do anything. I really hope Monet will scratch on the door again...

Please keep him in you prayers and help him find his way home...

The other time Monet got out didn't you have his crate on your porch with food inside? Just wondering if his crate is out there again.

I just "got down on my knees" and said a special prayer for Monet's safe and quick return.

Please continue to update us. Thanks.

Also, you DO deserve to have this dog. Please try not to be so hard on yourself.

I believe Monet is on his way back to you. He found his way back to you before.
He can do it again!
