MISSING: Sheltie in Winchester, KY - FOUND SAFE!

I missed your original post of when he went missing, and posted. But I read now he is back home, safe.

I am so happy for you,but I cannot imagine the frantic time you went thru.So glad for the happy ending.

I missed the post where he was found! I am so happy for you and Monet! So young, and still able to find his way back. Smart puppy!

Thanks so much! Thanks to the prayers of everyone here, he came home safe, albeit very muddy. He's been a completely different dog, for the better - I think he's starting to learn to trust me.

I wish a baby gate would work, but unfortunately he can jump those. He can clear 4', and a baby gate is nothing. I can only get it to work when I'm using them on the stairs, which gives it a good 8" addition. At the breeder's house, he would jump them like they were nothing but fun little hurdles put there to make maneuvering through the house more interesting.

I am religiously using the car harness when going in the car, which has prevented any other problems. And I am also constantly working on our recall outside, so hopefully he will not feel the need to disappear for 16 hours again. :)

Unfortunately, Monet is no longer home safe. Last night, I lost grip on his retractable leash at my apartment. Needless to say... Monet has now been missing for 14 hours. I am in utter shock. I can't believe I have lost him for a second time. I cried for hours. I shouldn't have used the retractable leash... I had been meaning to stop. We searched and searched on foot but found nothing, and no one else has seen him. I live off a very busy road. I just hope he is ok and not trapped. I keep hoping maybe he will show up at my door tonight like he did last time...

The one saving grace is he does have a collar with tags and my number on it. The bad news is he has his leash on...

I could really use your prayers. It makes me think I don't deserve to have a dog...

Oh no!

This is terrible.
