More problems with Yogi

I'm glad the diagnosis is so positive.

I would recommend a little natural yoghurt and I would be going along the lines of fish and rice, chicken and rice and also cooked egg.

Cadbury suffered colitis as a pup and I was told to reduce protein in his diet. He does very well on raw, but I add natural yoghurt every now and then to keep him 'regular'.

Unfortunatly Yogi had some further problems today, thankfully no where near as bad as Tuesday but after doing some normal poo he continued straining and passing small liquid drops, including some blood. However he seemed ok and comfortable when we got home and has not asked to go out again. I called the vet for advice and he seemed to think this was not unexpected after such a severe bout. Hopefully I can get him ok over the weekend so he can have the ultrasound and endoscopy next week. He is certainly much quieter than normal and has lost quite a bit of weight over the last week. I am giving him as much attention as he wants. Yogi is not a cuddly dog but I think he appreciates it and lets me know when he's had enough. Revel is jealous of course but for once he has to take second place.

I am happy the vet found the problems. Those worms sure can cause blood. When I brought my setters home, two brothers from the breeder they were passing blood. I stayed up all night watching them, couldn't wait til daylight when the vet was opened. I was so aggravated with their breeder, and so were the other buyers.

Sounds like you caught it fast enough too and that is a good thing. Yogi sending good thoughts ASAP, that you improve everyday for mom.

PS: Real Dannon Yogart is the best. I give it to my two shelties periodically.

I'm not getting my hopes up just yet but after a worrying time last night when Yogi needed to go out twice and came in with blood under his tail and quite uncomfortable, he is showing improvement today on the Hills W/D and while he has pooed numerous times it has been far more normal with much less blood.
I was worried last night that I would not be able to get him through the weekend without veterinary assistance but although he is still much quieter than normal, he is finally showing signs of improvement.

Poor boy has a 'goat bottom' where they've shaved it and some of his beautiful tail has been trimmed too, as well as the shaved patch on his front leg where the drip was. He's looking rather a mess at the moment.
