My 'mini-Border-Collie'....

Not to derail the thread, but I thought Cryptic was when the only way you could knew it was a merle and not a bi-black/tri was a small merled or patch somewhere. Like, it's just not obvious that it's a merle. IDK. The merling on his face and then the strip across his back makes him seem less "cryptic" to me. However, I'm not a Sheltie exhibitor, judge, expert, etc.

Now back on track... Missy get's mistaken for a border collie all the time. All you can really say when they argue is, "I have the pedigree that shows without a doubt he's a Sheltie, would you like to talk to the breeder?"

I'm with you on the cryptic- means it's hard to tell that the dog is a merle.

Jocu gets BC sometimes- he is longer than the other shelties and he is black and white so I can understand the confusion:winkgrin:

How do I add a picture? I have a cryptic blue that I can show you. He looks like a tri color with lots of gray. People think he's a really old dog.

Great looking puppy, looks like he has some attitude also  As to the limited brown check Sca in my gallery. He has less brown that almost any tricolor I have seen. He is also built all wrong. But he is all mine and fantastic :)

Unless you plan on doing confirmation or are discussing it just ignore the 'experts' as most aren't. Pet your guy and have a blast mayhem.

How do I add a picture?

You'll have to upload your picture to a photo sharing site like Photobucket or Google Pictures then post the link. The other option is to become a Premium Member of Shetlie Nation; the ability to directly add pictures to the site is one of the perks.
