Shaun, there are no words.

Your Zoe is now with all our beloved Sheltie Angels.:cry: God be with you and your family during this difficult time. Hugs and Sheltie kisses to you and yours from Kia. Their lives are way to short and it's a gutwrenching feeling at their loss.:cry:
 
Crazy and I are very sorry to hear about Zoe, are prayers and barks go out to you. Oh and Crazy is sending you a few licks for your face.
 
Dear Shaun, we have all come to care so much for little Zoe. We cheered her improvements and prayed when things didn't look so good. I really understand what you mean about playing God -- it does feel that way, and we think we aren't up to the task. But I think you listened as he whispered in your heart, "It's time. Send her to me, and I will give her rest." See you at the bridge, sweet Zoe!

Shaun - I'm so sorry that you had to make that decision but you knew Zoe was suffering and you did a very loving thing for her. This is a quote from the Tuscarora Indian tribe: "They are not dead who live in the hearts they leave behind." And Zoe is most definitely in your heart.
 
For the last week I've been looking at Zoe's close up picture on your profile and talking to her, telling her to get better and wondering how such a sweet face could be so sick. I am typing through tears now. Oh Shaun, I am so sorry. You know you did the best thing you could do. Zoe will be waiting for you at the bridge, with Sheltie spins and kisses.
 
Oh, my heart is breaking! I'm so sorry Shaun! Take comfort that you had the strength to listen to your soul. Of course, you will miss her being there every day, but she will always hold a place in your heart and your memories! She will never be forgotten. Just tucked away in a nice tidy part of you, to pull out and remember the fond moments while she owned you!

Thank you all for your comments. I truly appreciate that all of you love your dogs as much as I do and don't think I'm a basket case. The kind words help some but I don't think I will be over this for a while. She was such a good dog. Thanks again for the thoughts and prayers through all of this.
