Need suggestions for what else I can do - FOUND!!

I really appreciate the shoulders to lean on. Someone suggested writing on my car with that stuff you use for just married or sports team crazy stuff. I am going to try that. Our big problem is we live rurally so the distance to search is wooded & large distances between homes. The last place I know she was for sure was my house & she hasn't been anywhere near since. My flyers do say don't try to chase & that she's very shy. I have put it on the Facebook pages of our humane society & another lost pets group that is local. I got a call from a lady in Ky that got it shared to her that way.I really believe someone has her & either doesn't want to give her up or hasn't seen the many signs. But it's hard to keep a secret in a small community so I'm hoping someone will call. Her being safe is the most important thing.

I will keep you posted & try some of the suggestions that I haven't already.

Need suggestions for what else I can do

Ask sheltie rescue to organize search parties - ideally during the evening hours as that's when scarred and skiddish shelties roam. Remember, shelties are herders, they oftentimes roam in large circles.

Plaster flyers around schools, kids are great at spotting loose dogs and most carry cellphones.

If you can't afford it, perhaps your sheltie rescue can offer assistance in hiring a dog tracker. Usually within one visit they can determine what area to concentrate your efforts.

Even though she was only with you a couple of days, if you have anything with her scent to provide a dog tracker, ensure to ziploc it in a bag. That way the scent doesn't diminish.

Good luck and please keep us posted.

I wish our local sheltie rescue was more supportive. I emailed them hoping they would at least post a mention on their website but I all they offered to do was pray that I find her. They also told me to put an ad in the paper saying she needed meds. Here is a link to their page so you can see how active they are (or aren't). www.facebook.com/pages/Louisiana-Sheltie-Rescue/174228045982976 I haven't had many good experiences with them & have heard the same from others that tried to get info on adopting a sheltie from them. I wish they were as supportive as this group.

I put out more flyers today & got a call from a lady in New Orleans that had it shared to her. Everyone outside of my area seems concerned but not really anyone close by. I am still praying that at the 2 local events Friday night & Saturday afternoon I will get some leads.

I've been on searches for lost dogs before and alot of these dogs end up in someone's house, usually searching for food. Sometimes I think we would need to flyer every house just to be sure they know there's someone looking for a lost dog and not to chase it out of the house. Just a thought - but if you can't flyer every house in a certain radius, definitely get as many out as possible!

And a reward helps. Might get those who don't really care to sit up and look out for the dog at least.

GREAT NEWS!!! We have her back home. Someone called early this morning & said they found her. She had been hanging around their property since Saturday but no one could catch her til last night. It is a miracle since she was not where we thought she might be & had to cross a busy country road to get where she was. You can be sure she is hugged like crazy & we'll make sure to get her chipped & spayed ASAP as well as being triple careful she doesn't get loose again. Thanks so much for all the support & prayers.

Tears of joy flowing here.

Yes, it was a miracle!

I am so very happy for you both.
