Needing your thoughts and prayers for my senior baby

Gosh it hurts to read this, and brings it all back to when I lost Mackie. I pray the new meds work so you have a bit more time together.

How are you both doing today? We are concerned and hoping F-kap responded positively to the new medication!

He seems a little better today. He was able to go outside by himself and even played a little with Ida. Not much but there was a spark. I didn't even need to help him up on carpet. He still can't get up very well on tile, but that's expected. Not really the "like a puppy again" the vet had described to me with other dogs that have taken this but I'm hoping he continues to get better.

I am so thrilled to hear that! What a relief!
Yes, my boy Chance needed carpets everywhere so he could gain traction to get up.

Wishing you both happier times... Blessings to you both!

Tired and stiff. He wouldn't pee outside so he has a belly band on. I had to pick him up out of bed this morning because he wouldn't even try to stand. Last night he didn't greet me again. But the dogs had all been asleep for a couple hours before I got home from work, so I guess he was just tired. That's what I'm hoping anyway. The vet said to give him 72 hours and this is just day 2. Keeping my fingers crossed for a better day tomorrow...:fl

I hope to hear positive news this morning as the medication has had more time to work! Fingers crossed!

Tabitha, I sure do remember you and especially F-kap. I feel your suffering -- our Annie Laurie, too, is approaching "that time." Know that we're with you and praying that the new meds give you just a little more time to share life with your precious boy.

I'm literally crying right now. I can't contain myself. He's doing AMAZING! (Comparatively speaking) He was a little better this morning but I was afraid to post and jinx myself. I didn't get to spend much time with him today because I had classes and work. But when I got home he was so happy to see me! He's barely even acknowledged my existence the past few days. He's still struggling, but just like an old man would. Not like he's on his way to rainbow bridge. All I could do was hug him and cry in his fur. I can't even put into words how overjoyed I am to have a little bit of time left with my little man! I will be calling the vet to pick up some more meds in the morning!:biggrin2:

Tabitha,

I am just thrilled to see your post! The image you describe hugging your dear F-kap and crying into his ruff left with tears streaming down my face. I know he felt the same seeing you and wanting to share how much better he felt. I hope and pray for his continued positive progress and please thank your vet for caring enough to help ease his discomfort. A HUGE VIRTUAL HUG TO BOTH OF YOU! :hugs

I have to admit when you described hugging your dear boy, I felt my boy Chance in my arms and surrounding me with his love. What I miss the most is hugging that full ruff and kissing that wonderful snout!

These souls are so precious and our love and bond so strong that each moment with them is precious. Glad it is Saturday so you guys can spend quality time together.
