We had a big flyball competition in Sydney on the weekend and despite the heat and humidity (well in comparison) both dogs ran PBs.

Deska's team came first - its the first time he has gotten a first at a major competition. He was very pleased with his prize of a huge bag of dog food.

Tully ran a PB of 5.6 seconds which now makes her the second fastest dog in our club over full heights (7" for Tully) after Masters Grand Champion Shoga, a kelpie cross, who did 5.5 over 13". Just think of how fast her little legs must be moving! And this is with her ongoing tendonitis.

Had to slap my wrist though as I didn't realise I only look at her times when she is coming back slower. When she does her fastest times I am too busy focusing on her to notice. Or perhaps if I have enough time to glance at the clock then I am not concentrating enough on Tully.
 
We are SO jealous! It will be a bit before someone runs more singles and Sca can go again. I am not sure if I will bring him or not for the next event just to get some atmosphere...

What org do y'all run? I thought UFli posted the dogs best for a race so you don't have to watch. 5.6 for a height dog is SMOKING I think Bunny runs 10 :lol: though she is the slowest height dog and can barely trigger a box.
 
The Aust Flyball Association doesn't collect individual times because we we don't run singles comps (except at Nationals). When you mentioned about individual seed teams I thought it was such a good idea our club started collecting them this weekend.

So the only way I ever knew Tully's times was when I had the time to look at the clock. And you know how hard that is when you are focusing on getting your dog back (and not being run down by the next dog and handler).

Being an extreme nerd I figure that it would be valuable to have times of dogs and in which slot etc. That way you could match the team to the bracket. And certainly for Sca he runs different depending on the dog before him. He hauls after the BCs, so so by himself and plods after the fat Aussie.... oops hairy Aussie :lol:
