Well the name is from japanese cartoon show called trigun I watched in my college days. The main character in the show he was called vash, wore a red coat and sunglasses, and pretty much caused chaos everywhere he went dispite him only having the best of intentions. He also had a spikey hair cut.
Vash the sheltie is going to have a bit of a redish tint in his coat when he gets older, has a nice mask around his eyes (sunglasses), likes to get his fur sticking straight up by squeezing into a very small spot behind the love seat & wall which builds up alot of static electricity, and seems to enjoy creating a mess in the house by bringing in everything and anything he finds on his potty breaks.
It just seemed to fit his look and personality well. And I wanted something a little less common than other mask related names like bandit, zoro, robin, or the like.
