New sheltie owner

I have a couple of expensive bags of food in the garage waiting..., I haven't have the heart to dump yet. I'm hoping to find a suitable donor. too bad dog food makers don't do samples. I switched food to EVO after a low protein diet and CeCe didn't like it. So I had to switch again. So, even if you do decide you want to feed a certain food- your DD (Dear dog, not dumb dog) may decide otherwise.

Good luck on the weight control, the higher protein content and lower fat and carb ratio is a great for all of us. :smile2:

Oh yes they do. When I was getting ready to try TOTW, I emailed them, explaining that I was very interested in trying their food, and asked if they could send me a sample before I commit to buying it, and they mailed me a box with 2 sample bags of each flavor. I know EVO, Innova, and Merrick's all make samples that you can get as well.

supplimenting his food with green beans and canned pumpkin i heard works good too for dieting.

Ya know i just stated him on some grean beans.. Now should i mix them with his kibble or give him just the green beans?

I mix green beans in with Spencer's Wellness Core kibble nighttime feeding. If I give him a Kong to occupy him, I generally put two or three pieces of kibble in first and fill the balance with green beans. Any way you want to do it should work!

im assuming u could mix it with the kibble, or give kibble in the morning, and the other at the nite feeding

Oreo Update

Hey everyone, well its been several months now am im proud to say that oreo is down to 47lbs. Its getting warmer so he's only eating once a day and i found a new toy he really loves so he's constantly running around with it. Just thought i let you guys know.

That's great, now that he's enjoying playing it will get easier for him to work off that weight! Keep up the good work! Don't let those famous begging sheltie eyes lure you into giving him a treat (unless its a frozen green bean or an ice cube, which my dogs thing are GREAT treats).
