Noel is now at the rainbow bridge

Dear St. Francis,
Today a special Christmas present arrived at Rainbow Bridge. Beautiful Noel came to spend Yuletide in the heavenly snowfields. I know you recognized her right away by her shining eyes and the glow of love that surrounded her. She carried the final grace her Mom bestowed upon her as she granted Noel the gift of peace. Please comfort her Mom as she faces Christmas bereft of her precious one. Help her to know that her sweet Christmas angel will always be there waiting until time grants them reunion once more.
In His name we ask,
Amen

I'm so sorry for your loss. At least you gave her a good home for the years that you did have her and I'm sure she knew that you loved her.

Thank you for the kind words. I was able to be in the room, hold her head, pet her, and close her eyes during her final moments. She really looked at peace afterwards. I held it together during the drive home, and then the sobbing started. Just when I think I'm done crying, there is more.
I've always wondered how anyone could give away this beautiful creature in her old age. I'm lucky I got 4 years with her.

I am sorry for your loss! We lost our first Sheltie just after she turned 13. You did the most honorable thing you could for her by being there, in love and support, in her final moments! Find peace in the memories and know that you will meet again someday at the Rainbow Bridge! :hugs

A noel is a song that lingers in your mind, gives you warmth and uplifts your spirits. I'm sure that your own Noel did all of that and more. I lost Vanna on Christmas Eve. I know how hard it is. You gave her the gift of a home and the gift of a peaceful end. She'll be with all the other Christmas angels when you reunite with her.

Thanks so much everyone. I thought the grief might be a little better today, but it's not. I walked into the kitchen this morning, and started sobbing because her bowls weren't there. I keep expecting to see her laying in her favorite spots. I live alone, and now the place just feels so empty.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Thank you for giving Noel some quality of life in her senior years, and the dignity of a peaceful end here.
Run strong and free!

So sorry

I am so sorry for your loss of Noel. I also live alone and understand what you mean when you say the place feels so empty. After I lost my Harbour, I couldn't believe how quiet my home was. Sending you lots of hugs.
