Not a good day.....

I am sorry I missed this thread. I am glad to hear that Indy is progressing nicely. Keep us posted on the bile thing.

Hey Barb, swap to white wine and Midol for a stress headache. The tannins in red wine may be making it worse. I find that a sweeter white is the best during high levels of stress as well.

Of course a little fine chocolate helps too.:biggrin2:

Staples removed today and everything is healed nicely. He has one spot which is still a little open, but the vet was not concerned.

We talked about the vomiting bile at night, and she said this was relatively common in smaller dogs. Seems that when their tummies get empty after a while without eating, they get acid indigestion (in human terms). There was a technical term to it, but I can't remember what it was. The fact that it started after his "event" is not surprising. She suggests feeding him a little snack at bedtime. I don't know that I'm going to start that new habit though. I think I'll give him a few more days and wait for things to settle down after the move. Clearly, this pup has had his share of stress lately!

I also had her check out his sore spot on his back (you'll recall I posted a picture of it a few weeks ago?). It healed itself (I was putting Bactine and stuff on it), but is still totally bare of fur (i.e. does not seem to be growing back). She does not want to go further with treatment on it right now as it seems to be healing. It would require a biopsy and we agree that Indy has had enough for the moment.

Her only question was whether or not he had recent vaccines, as this will sometimes cause this. The answer is no, so I'm at a loss as to what it is/was.

Glad to hear Indy is healing and doing fine. What a lucky guy he is that you seen the needle. That is just so unreal he had to investigate that, but you never know what they will get into.

I am just happy he is doing great.
