On to Novice!

Hunter and I had our final Intermediate Obedience class last night. Our training club is holding a CGC test in Sept so our instructor used the last night to hold a mock CGC and practice all the tests individually. Hunter did splendidly including letting our instructor examine an ear and a foot, something he failed when we attempted the CGC in June.
He addressed the entire class and encouraged everyone to either take a few more Intermediate classes or move on to Novice if they felt they and their dog was ready but after class let out, he pulled me aside and encouraged me to go straight to Novice, he thinks we are 100% ready. He commented that Hunter is still "green" but is making tons of progress and he can see we are working our butts off to get where we are going (Obedience titles). Its always nice when the teacher gives you props for a job well done! :biggrin2:
So we received our 'certificate of completion' and I will be attending a Novice class next week without Hunt to get a feel of how this class is different. Then hopefully, the following week, we will start our Novice journey. I'm hoping to be ready for competition by late '08/early '09.
We are also going to partake in our club's State Fair obedience demos. I'm hoping to kind of get a feel of what its like in OB competition with crowds and distractions, I think it will be good practice for both of us. So if you are attending the MN state fair Aug. 23rd, come check us out in the Purina Pet Bldg!!

Congrats

Sounds like you and Hunter are the stars!!!!!:Good Luck to you both in Novice. I want to wing a Novice Obedience trial in November.
