Partial Obstruction... Passed!

Glad it was nothing serious and Lerwick is okay!

These dogs just eating the weirdest things. My dog, who usually will ignore objects and anything that doesn't smell like food pooped out a 6+ inch thin elastic rubber band thing. It was balled up and I thought it was a ton of worms and was ready to take it the vet. Upon further inspection I realized it was actually some sort of long rubber band.

I have never seen this rubber band before and have no idea where she got it. We're very good about keeping things out of her reach and she is a dog who doesn't chew or eat non-food objects, so I was puzzled. She has had no bowel issues either. :confused2:

Anyway, glad Lerwick is fine!

 I am so sorry Lerwick was ill, :biggrin2: so happy he's OK -- and so hysterical about the $1300 poo!

I have had to Liam-proof my house - nothing gets left out that is accessible to him. He is a dog who can stand on the floor and jump up on the dining room table. Over Christmas, he has crunched up a hard plastic Christmas ornament and gnawed away at a glitter-covered ornament I had on a cake plate on the table. I don't know what goes through their minds - if it is on the table, it must be edible. He also finds anything and everything that he can to chew away at - I think it is stress.

Again, I am so happy Lerwick didn't need the kind of surgery others of our dogs have had to have. Lerwick - behave yourself now. No more eating things you shouldn't.

Lerwick, I am so happy your ok. I bet your pooper will be Christmas presents for at least the next five years. Be a good boy and don't scare the heck out of your very best pals that were willing to find the problem at $1300.

What a way to start out the New Year.

Lol! A $1300 poo. That's hilarious! But glad everything turned out fine! Time to check the toys to see if there are any more that can be broken up and swallowed!

Hey. at least it wasn't a $2,300.00 bowel resection !!! That makes that $1,300 poo look pretty sweet.

Oh, yes. We did a thorough sweep of all the toys and removed quite a few of them. He doesn't play with toys... he just wants to destroy them. And he has been getting worse and worse about it with each new toy. When Lerwick gets a new toy, he checks it thoroughly for any structural weaknesses. If he finds one, he will go after that spot relentlessly. So, now he can't have any soft/stuffed toys. No toys with bits that can be chewed off. We've also had to deprive the cats of all of their toys, too, since they keep bringing them out of Kitty Land and into areas of the house where the dog can get hold of them.

He's pretty much left with 2 nylabones and a kong.
