Paw Problems

My Angel Pavi had severe pancreatitis once. They weren't sure he would make it, but he did. He was around 7 when it happened, and he died last year at age 12 from a completely unrelated problem. He was fasted for several days (water, but no food), which is apparently the first line treatment. Then the vet switched him to a prescription food (very low fat) and he ate that exclusively. No people food, no greasy treats. He lost weight, and was healthy until about the last two months of his life. Dogs do beat this! :hugs

Thank you all for your kindness and support.
My baby Rusty headed towards the rainbow bridge yesterday June 24. He passed in his sleep due to severity of his pancreatitis. He will never be forgotten, and he will always be my baby.
Thank you all again for your advice and support.
Rest in Peace, my beloved Rusty

I am so sorry for your loss. He is running pain-free and happy at the bridge.

If you're feeling up to it, feel free to write a tribute to him in our Sheltie Angels section.

I am so sorry to hear of Rusty Roo's passing. Thoughts and prayers with you. Cry all you need to, because we need to grieve our Shelties too. :hugs

I am so sorry that RustyRoo has gone to the Rainbow Bridge. But, many shelties (six of mine) will meet him there and they will all dance together.

My deepest sympathy for your 4 legged baby. I know it's devastating. My Cassie probably will meet your and other dogs on Rainbow Bridge. My poor Cassie died of kidney failure this last March. She suffered a lot last few days.

I am so very sorry about your loss of Rusty. My sincere deepest sympathy to you. My poor Cassie suffered kidney disease for several years since the age of 3 years old, and last 6 months her health turned much to the worse. She died 10 days after her 7th birthday.

I so much understand your devastated feeling of loss. We lost 2 Shelties already, and it's very hard on us. First one died of spleen cancer.

Our Candy and Cassie will meet Rusty on the Rainbow Bridge. Let them all rest in peace, with no pain.

Please accept my condolences.
