peeing more than normal?

I noticed today that when I take Riley out to pee he goes more than usual. The first pee was really long but then when I was waiting for him to poop, he peed 3 more times. He also had an accident in the house about 2 hours after his morning pee. Its been many months since his last accident. A couple times this evening when going outside he also peed 2-3 times. Normally when I take him out he pees once per time outside. His pee looks normal.

I am wondering if it could be a bladder infection? Or could it be his way of starting to mark things?

If it keeps up that he pees more times when going outside, I plan on taking him to the vet.

Emmy just started doing the same thing Monday. She would go four or five times each potty outing, several more times on a walk (which she never does), and would cry to go outside even after she was just out. I took a urine sample into the vet Wednesday, and the vet said that she had signs of an infection and put her on antibiotics. She started them last night and I haven't seen signs of improvement yet, but it's a two week course of them so I'm guessing it'll take a bit of time.

I hope your little one gets to feeling better soon.

Just to be on the safe side I would definitely drop a urine sample off at your vets to check for a UTI.

Hope your little one is back on track soon.

Riley is still peeing a lot. He went before our walk and them 3 times during. I couldn't get into the vet today but have an appt scheduled for Monday morning.

Often times you can just drop off a urine sample without an appointment. You may try that?

I wish I could do that, but I was told I needed an appt with a dr. I have to keep him crated for 3 hours before so they can collect a urine sample.

It will give me a chance to also ask about his eye. He has a light spot in the lower part of his left eye. He is a blue merle so maybe it is just a spot of blue pigmination? But it will be nice to get the vet's opinion.

The urinalysis was inconclusive. I am waiting on the results of a urine culture. The vet thinks that he does have the start on an infection. I have Zeniquin to start him on.

Turns out Riley doesn't have a bladder infection! The vet says he is starting to go thru puberty.

Riley was started to vomit while on the Zeniquin, so we are both happy to stop that.
