Phoebe had her final X-ray yesterday and was pronounced healed. We have to go back in 4 months to have the plate removed and do the spay. Although the plate can stay in, the vet recommend removal to avoid any future problems and six months after the initial surgery was optimal because the break would be well healed. Once the plate is out 14 little holes from 7 screws will have to fill in.
Can't say I am looking forward to all this again. The timing might be a little tricky because who knows when she will go into her first heat! In the meantime my baby jaws is certainly enjoying the rest of her puppyhood.
