Thanks everyone....

I emailed the humane society to see if the paperwork they gave me is right or if they know different. I can also call the humane society that his litter mates and him where sent from. And we wait to see what happen.....we will see if I give in and do the DNA test. Not sure yet...lol

Thanks

That is a wonderful looking new companion. What a cutie. He's so alert you can tell he's just looking for adventure!

Looks like a hound pup to me as well. Don't know were the humane society saw sheltie but maybe some of the littermates looked more like one. I have seen many dubious calls happen at humane societies. However, he is very cute and I also vote we can give him an honorary sheltie status :)

Thanks everyone...

From doing more research and looking at more pictures I am thinking he is a true mutt...possible feist with lab. I am thinking of the dna test, would be nice to know aprox how big he will get. As of last night he was 26.5 lbs at 4 months 20 days. He is growing longer hair on his neck tail and around legs on his body. He is also getting spotty color. when we got him he was all white and a little tan.

What a sweetheart! I definitely don't see any sheltie or shepherd there, but handsome boy just the same!

I don't see sheltie being part of his past... but I bet I could see agility in his future. He looks like a fun little dog!

Definitely not Sheltie! Looks like he has more than just two breeds in him, too. Also don't get too excited about DNA tests... they aren't that accurate. I have a friend who breeds and shows Samoyeds and for fun she sent in one of her dogs DNA. It came back that her champion Samoyed was a mutt :rolleyes2:

Found a picture of a lab mix that looks just like Cody.

Right now he is about 30lbs....more spots of color and longer fur around his neck.
