Pin Length on Brushes

Here are the colors and the stiffness. I got this off one of the sites on google.

Orange (medium-soft)
Pink (medium-soft)
Purple (medium)
Red (medium-soft)
NEW Small Blk (med)
NEW Small Pink (med)
NEW Pink Oblong (firm)
Black w/red pad (FIRM

Which color/s would you buy for a Sheltie?

I like the purple one which is medium stiffness and also the pink, which is medium soft. I got that for younger dogs like puppies, but it's also good on the adults. missjennygirl uses those two also and I think the black one as well. My favorite every day one is the purple though.

And Michele, that is the ebay site I ordered them from that take4 posted below. They were very fast --- the brushes came in three days!

I'll be interested to know how these brushes stand up!

I had a pinbrush I bought at Petsmart and within just a couple of months most of the pins were all pushed in and skewed in all different directions.

I've had none of that with the CC brushes, but I grant they are expensive. I do expect them to last years and years.

I recently bought a CC brass fussion"spell?" size 20 at a show and am absolutely in love. I had the other CC pin brushes, but wasn't overly enthused with them and used them for basically fluffing up the rough before shows. Before I bought this brush I was mainly just a slicker and combing type person for our weekly brush outs. On recommendations from a professional handler I also have a Mason Pearson brush in the mail. We shall see? :)

I now own two 20mm CC brushes - quite by accident. One is a Fusion ($50) as well.( it came free with another purchase) The other is a Gold Series ($34)

I haven't yet tested one against the other. We'll see.

Thank you Ann. Brian told me to go ahead and order one.Mine unfortuneatly today was falling apart.(Just in time :biggrin2:) as I was just looking at these last night.(((and no there was no whining involved)):biggrin2:

some of the pins in my brush had gotton all crooked..so I showed this to Brian, and he said with two dogs,we are going to need one.

I have the 20mm small wood pin brush by CC. It seems to really help with tangles without pulling the hair. Maybe it's caused by the large size of the wooden pins? It's one of those things that I was hesitant to order but really like it after using the brush. I actually like the small size of the brush.
