Well it's hard to believe my boy is almost a year old! What a difference a year makes, a year ago I had to make the heart wrenching decision to have my 14 1/2 year old Cocker Daisy put down. The only thing that kept me sane was finding a breeder who had a female who was due a week after I'd put Daisy down and Piper was born on Easter Sunday last year, that was a good day!
His coat has become sooo thick, a far cry from the coyote he looked like at 4 months and I haven't had to tip his ears in over a month (he's happy about that, he was so good at getting the tape out lol).
He's definitely nothing like Daisy, she went from being a puppy to an adult by 8 months, he's much more mature but still acts like a puppy but with more of an attention span now. He's been incredibly easy to housetrain, he had a few accidents over the past few months but they've been few and far between. His obedience is going great, we're half way through his level 2 obedience and his heeling is excellent (sits when I stop and keeps pace with me whether I go fast or slow and never takes his eyes off me) and his stays are really good (3 minutes +). We'll be returning to our trainer we went to last year (she's in the country and I don't do winter highway driving) but she is excellent, (she has Border Collies that she competes with) and we're going to do competition obedience and Rally. I can't wait, she has a great set up...a large fenced property and a very large training hall. Pipers going to love it (he really does enjoy going to obedience and he's going to love Rally I think.
I also became a premium member today, every one is great on this site and so helpful I decided to support it and join.
Here's a pic of Piper at 11 months
