An Update On Maggie Mae

Maggie's awful disease is progressing rapidly - because it is rare very few vets have seen it or know how to treat it. Superficial Necrolytic Dermatitis. It doesn't sound too bad but the lesions are now not only on her paws but knees, sides, peri-anal, and other places. The pain meds are working if she doesn't have to move around, but you can see she is in pain when she tries to walk.

She is our angel dog - the sweetest dog we have ever had and we think tomorrow she will become a real angel. We have agonized so long over when is the right time - we think it has come. She still has a little enjoyment but it is rapidly disappearing and we don't want to be cowardly and keep her too long for ourselves. It's all about her. Any thoughts or prayers will be truly appreciated for tomorrow (Monday) or very soon.

I am so sorry to hear this. My heart goes out to you and will be thinking of you today.
 
Dear St. Francis,
Please be on the lookout for Maggie. Soon she will step into the fields of Rainbow Bridge, healed and whole. Prepare her a comfy place to rest and please have all her favorite things to eat ready. And remind her that it will seem but the twinkling of an eye before she sees her beloved family coming into view for the great walk across the Bridge.

Thanks to all of you who helped us on this long and painful journey. Maggie is now truly an angel - we are so glad she is at peace.
