Poor babies -- at emergency vet

Please don't beat yourself up--as was once said on another dog board (and I think Café Press has a t-shirt with the saying)--"sith happens" (doesn't take long for it to happen either.)

So glad your furbabies are doing better and I know the cost of emergency vets is sky high (Blaze spent two days in an oxygen cage" at the emergency vet) but I think it's totally worth it.
 
How scary. I was in a similar situation about 5 years ago with Maverick when he ate a whole bottle of canine asprin.

Ashley, OMG. So glad to hear they are doing OK. Please don't beat yourself up. These things DO happen no matter how many precautions you take. Believe me, you and I are sisters under the skin when it comes to trying to be on top of EVERY LITTLE THING with the dogs.

In our case, on the day of my father-in-law's funeral service, we left the dogs loose inside for a short while. Well, they raided my sister-in-law's pill box because she had some candy calcium chews in there, and we couldn't account for her blood pressure medication!!! :eek2: Gave them the peroxide, called the vet, cried buckets etc. Our vet said just to watch them for a while. I was going to skip the service completely but some dear friends offered to take the dogs to the church and be with them right outside the door to watch them, and come immediately to get me if anything happened. Luckily they were OK but it was a miserable time and I totally was distracted when I should have been "present" to honor my FIL. :(

So yep, S**t happens. Sorry it will cost you in both emotional trauma as well as money. Hang in there. :hugs :hugs

Ashley, so sorry this has happened. Glad to hear that the pups are ok. The story about Lexi and Enzo is just too sweet for words.

Prayers and warm wishes for you and your pups. Get well soon for Bentley, too.

Glad to hear your guys are doing ok. I had a similar scare on Wednesday when my cat knocked my pill packet off the windowsill trying to reach a sunny patch. I didn't realised until I found Sparrow chomping on the box. Fortunately there was only one left and she spat 2/3 out, but it was very scary.

Quick update--both babies were released early! Test results look good, they just want them back in on Monday for one more test.

Enzo is out in the yard as we speak, with just some diarrhea to show for his ordeal.

Lexi hasn't left my lap since I walked in. Her IV spot has been bleeding and she's wanting to lick it--:(

Really appreciate all the well wishes!
 
How scary! I'm glad you have them back home and will keep you and your furbabies in my prayers this weekend that they don't have any setbacks. Hugs to you and extra pats on the head to the pups.
 
Great news, Ashley!! I'm so glad to hear they're home with you and I bet they're beyond happy to be there. Enjoy the weekend cuddling your pups! :biggrin2:
