Possible double double merle?

my border collie I had, had that same look in her face, she was a small blue merle, only 30 pounds. And i have seen borders with all white heads, that are not double merles. The male has a sheltie head though.

Agree with that, its a tough call isn't it? I met a collie on Tuesday night that was almost sheltie sized, I knew it was mostly border, but there was something else in the mix.

I was going to ask but never had the chance. Smashing little agility dog though.

Thank you everyone who had replied, I thought bc or something else in mix also but I wasnt sure. As for colors im guessing more along the lines of highly white factored/piebald then?
Thanks!

I was thinking that this woman really should not be breeding....even if they aren't double-merles, or any of the other combinations that lead to congenital defects (and I'm no expert here), my overiding thought is that these are hardly prime specimens of the breed.

I agree completely, but like I said a friend of mine bought a female out of the two that were posted and didnt see pictures or meet the parents before hand, and is pretty much a sheltie newbie and didnt know what she was getting into, and when she showed me the pictures I wasnt even sure what colors they were, so I was trying to help her figure out what color the female she bought was, I am not sure who she purchased her from or anything like that.

I agree completely that they are definitally prime spay/neuter canidates. They definitally do not have even decent type and quite frankly should have never reproduced.

That is a fair point Barb. We discuss all the time 'why' to breed and one of the major factors is to stick as close to the breed standard as possible, because that's what it is there for.
