Potty time?

Here in my house I never let a puppy big or small
-tell me that they want to get out - without going out with them
(Although not always a hit)

I immediately take my coat over my night shirt
whether it is raining or snowing.

They need to know they get a response when they say something,
it gives confidence both ways

Incidentally, I never have my puppies or dogs in cages in my house.

All my puppies have to be quick to cleanliness
and no one and I say no one has had a relapse

But in the beginning - I do a great job of watching their signals.

For me personally, I feel I get value for my work

this is definitely part of it. I want her to learn that if she needs out and asks, out she goes. Mine also do not go out alone.

I know she is capable of it. Which is why I’m not 100% sure if it’s because she has to go or because she wants out of the crate.

If she does it tomorrow morning, I’m going to make sure she goes right back on the crate as soon as the business is done.

This is going to kill me. She’s going to kill me slowly with no sleep.

4:20 wake up
4:40 out to pee.
4:43 back inside when all she wants to do is play around
4:44 back in the crate
5:05 were still crying and scratching with no slowing down
5:12 Watson is on my chest licking my face and Roxy is starting to settle
5:14 Watson is quietly barking and Roxy is back to crying again.

Anybody looking for a puppy???

Sounds like she's figured out how to get her way but that s ok lol. With both my boys I let them sleep the night on the bed once they were able to jump up on it (and I trusted them not to pee on it) but my first dog Daisy (a Cocker) was sleeping on my bed at 8 weeks! She would cry so much and try to get out I succumbed to her. I put a sweatshirt near the head of the bed and that was her spot. I'd wake up when od feel movement and out she'd go. I swear she was potty trained in 2 weeks! Easiest dog to housebreak ever!

I have mine in bed from the time I bring them home
and until they can jump down themselves

It makes them potty trained so easily and quickly

After that, they decide for themselves where they want to be

We’ve made it to 6:13 the last two mornings. That’s acceptable. And pretty close to her normal time.

Piper was quite small when he was young and I was too worried that he'd jump off the bed during the night. I really really wanted him on the bed but he wasn't able to jump on the bed until 10 months. So I waited, more for his safety. I didn't crate him from about 5 months but did restrict where he could go but he still managed to chew my Ethernet cable cord (cost me $50 ). Not electrical but this is why it's important to keep them safe...they don't know any better but we do.

I could probably give Roxy limited access to roam the house potty wise. But she’s recently taken to inappropriate chewing. Namely a laptop cord. I’d rather she not chew a cord that’s plugged in. So as long as she can’t be watched at least a little bit, in the crate she goes.

she’s also built like a tank and would be off the bed in a heart beat if that’s what she wanted. I’m not sure if she could get up on her. Possibly.

Finnie was able to get on the bed by 9 months...he tried and tried before that but even though he was over sized he just didn't quite have the oomph in his back leg muscles to push himself up but then I didn't trust him not to pee anywhere (he'd be good for a month and then backtrack...boys!)

I’ve been playing “how many sheepdogs are going to be at the door when I get home?” Tonight it was two. No wizz puddles no poo piles.

She can jump up on the couch with no problem. I think she could make it on the bed.

I don’t think it will be long. Maybe her birthday present will be free range with Watson. We’ll see how the chewing shapes up by then. It really isn’t as bad as it could be.
