Everybody thinks she is a very small Springer Spaniel here, as most people are used to solid colour or roan cockers. She does love agility! We don't have a problem with enthusiasm, lol:lol:
 
So we had another pre-comp workshop last week. Unfortunately I forgot to charge my camera battery, so I only caught Sparrow's first run. But I was thrilled with it because she did a 90 degree turn into the weaves. Since this vid I have also managed to close up her weaves a fraction more and she is actually having to turn her body now. Exciting times:biggrin2:

We have a KC comp on the weekend and they will be measuring. So Sparrow will go for her first measure and I shall discover which height she will need to jump. Gosh, I would love it to be small:fl
 
:no: 12 seconds is not long enough to enjoy watching Sparrow run. Please make sure your camera is FULLY charged before the next session and Five Rivers so we can have maximum enjoyment :pop :winkgrin:

The channel weaves look like they are working out well for her. Did you have guides on at any stage? She doesn't seem to have any issues with finding the entry - I was very impressed by last week's demo and actually replayed it twice in slow motion!

Just had Angus finally measured on Saturday (tried a couple of times but his microchip must have dropped out so had to get him rechipped) and he is small. :fl for Sparrow. Good luck at Five Rivers and I'm hoping you have better weather than last year.

No, always just channels. Wish I had known this method with Merlin!

As usual, she looks awesome! She's just so speedy--I love it! And I know what you mean about the weaves. It is exciting when their little bodies actually start the weaving motion!

What does she have to measure if she wants to jump small? Is there anything smaller than small?
 
At Kennel Club to be small she needs to be under 14in. Small is the lowest height at KC, however the other organisations I attend have a micro/toy height, which is usually for dogs under 14in. Every organisation is different. Merlin jumps medium at KC, UKA and Beachside, but jumps small at T&A and Agility Ability. Even if Sparrow measures medium for KC and UKA, she will be small for the other 3.

Each time I enter a different comp I have to ask myself 'what height do I jump?' I now have charts to refer to so I don't have to work it out every time:winkgrin:

Didn't realize that Sparrow was that small! She is Enzo-sized! I guess I just picture her bigger in my head :biggrin2:

I know we've talked about this before, but can you share the height classes and jumps? Just curious.

For comparison, here's USDAAs Championship Program (Performance jumps 1 height lower):
12" or less: 12"
14" or less: 14"
16" or less: 16"
17.5" or less: 18"
21" or less: 22"
Over 21": 26"

And AKC's:
11" or less: 8"
14" or less: 12"
18" or less: 16"
22" or less: 20"
Over 22": 24"

Nadac is similar to AKC but the highest jump height is 20".
