Callie didn't like being wet and living in AL, she experienced some tropical weather. I would try to get her to go out in between feeder bands but wasn't always successful. I had gotten a raincoat for her so put that on, put my raincoat on, got out the big umbrella and would take her out on leash in the backyard- she would eventually do what she needed. really glad that none of the shelties after her have required that level of intervention. the current shelties will go out in the rain if they have to go but will choose to wait if it's pouring and it's not necessary to go out.......Not always the small ones. I'll be wearing my little Ruffles for the duration of any thunderstorm, and earlier if she senses it coming with her Sheltie barometer. We're in the path of the current hurricane to hit here on Sunday till Monday and I guarantee I'll have a Sheltie blanket for the whole time....already wondering how I'll get them to go out in a hurricane....
