Proper Discipline

Not long after he grasped sit after many repetitions, after I posted this, he also picked up down very well in about 10 tries. It seems like once he could realize he got a reward for obeying he picked up down easy. Trying to convey the command "Up" to him so he knows to stand but should I treat him for that as well?

Lure him into the standing position WITH the treat in your hand. He will follow your hand. You give the treat to him the second he stands.

I have no clue why I posted four months but he is 2 months old sorry for that. I have been using the positive discipline now by replacing his nipping with a tug of war toy. I had another question about obedience commands. I have been going over sit for a week now maybe 20 times per sitting and he inst grasping sit unless I push upon his rear. I am using treats upon success.
Also Sca when super worried I am going away in the motorhome will still mouth the back of my legs. Just stop. They are trying to herd you and stopping is the opposite of what they are trying to do, takes the fun out of it for him.

I do -- Beckon is learning "stand" with the word and a hand signal -- hand flat, palm up, with a lifting motion.

From patting his rear I turned the sit signal into a flat hand signal and down is pointing down he picked up the gestures easily. Working on stand tonight see how it goes, thankyou for the tips.
