You should be proud!! Beautiful and fast runs!! Even w/o the Q in standard.
Thanks! Yeah that course was really really tough and very few people qualified. Really very few people qualified the whole weekend.

Ok, so I have an issue with people doing the latest and greatest moves, especially when the move is not warranted. So when I walked the standard course on Sunday, I looked at the table to jump to teeter and thought, "Gee, wouldn't this be the place you'd want to put the ketschker move in?" but I saw no one else walking it that way so I was hesitant to try it and look like a fool. Still the more I walked it, the more it seemed evident that this would be the best way to keep the dog from going over the A-Frame that was right next to the teeter. So I did it! And it worked great! So many people sent their dogs right over the A-Frame, but not usNow we didn't Q because he took the wrong end of the tunnel and dropped a bar, but I was still super proud of myself for trying and succeeding with the move in the right place at the right time. Here's the run: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C_FdMNFMACI
Then in Jumpers we Q'd and took 1st - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MT6I5SrM1IU
Not the elusive QQ I need but a good day nonetheless![]()
Interesting. I guess Trax wanted to do another blind cross later, hehehe. BTW, I'm curious, did everyone else, kinda do the wrap around? If I could lead out from the table, which I can, I probably (assuming the set up is correct in my thinking) would have stood facing table, jump on the right of me, me standing behind the jump, arm out so dog konws to take the jump, have him jump tight, then dog would cross in front of me and take the teeter. Granted, my dog wouldn't have the foot speed with the blind cross (but then, Trax is a speed demon, lol). Just wondering if anyone did that type of move, that's probably what I would have done, so I also wouldn't have to RC the teeter or jump after the teeter. And Koji BC's me enough, hehe, and not in a good way.
And I saw naughty Trax in his half squat. LOL.
Nice Jumpers run. I love watching Trax run.![]()
Oh yeah, just curious, did you have a 2o2o for the DW or did you transition to a running?
Hopefully Koji will have fun today. Wish us luck. I'm so out of shape.
But I should've corrected him there and taken him off the course. I was only there one day this weekend so I wanted to make each run relaxing and fun regardless of the result. Next weekend I'm there 3 days so we'll be more strict about what we expect
Sorry, yeah JWW is Jumpers With Weaves. Some venues do Jumpers courses that do not have weaves, so I'm assuming that's why they call it that.
Most people stood at the right hand side of the table(dog on left) and sent them over the jump and turned to stay on the right of the dog with the dog on the teeter to the left of them, which sent the dogs flying straight over the jump, outwards and then right onto the A-Frame instead of the teeter.
Trax did NOT wait on the dogwalk like he was supposed to. He knows better and I told him that was badBut I should've corrected him there and taken him off the course. Great runs! I am not enamored by ketschker turn because if done too often it will lead to weakening of my forward send and I value it a lot more but on few occasions it is such an economic move.
Thanks for clearing up that mystery for me! I've mostly come to grips with the other abbreviations but this one has had me puzzled for ages! JWW would therefore be equivalent to our Jumping classes, and the Jumping classes here without weaves are Steeplechases (usually) - I think!
That course looked like a lot of fun to run. You and Trax are such a good team, congratulations once again!
Well, that's interesting. I wonder how many changed it up after you went.
Oh, Mr Trax is in trouble. But Mom let him off easy. hehehe.
Yay! It can be really exciting (scary?) to try a new move in a trial. Glad to hear it worked for you! I've done a Ketschker twice in a trial...once Lexi shot off and took an off-course (D'oh!) and the other worked nicely. But it's still something that scares me a little!
Maybe I'm not picturing it right, but how does it weaken your forward send? A Ketschker is basically a backy uppy to a blind, I don't see the forward component.
I don't think anyone did. The runs were tall to small and I don't really see the need for it with small dogs as their stride is shorter most of the time. Trax has a very hard time with collection, so this move was perfect to put in since it gave him a very definitive cue to turn tight. We're also working very hard with Cik and Cap which teaches tight turns as well and that's really starting to pay off.
I'm happy to report that my instructor watched the video last night and said I did a great job and that it was the perfect place for the handling manuever.
