Proud of myself!

Yay on the Cik and Cap. I love when things come together. I did some blind crosses in class last night. We've only worked on it a bit, so I was wondering what Koji would do. Well, if Mom did them right, it would look better. With some instruction, my BC's became awesome, Koji got in some tight turns, etc. It's amazing what a little change can do. :)

Strange that you say that about the small dogs. Most people I saw doing BC's were smaller dogs. Like the 12" or 16" group. Not so much the larger dogs.

That is such a wonderful feeling. You are a great handler, we expect a lot. :P

Well there's a difference between just doing a blind cross and having the need for this move. What I mean is that a smaller dog tends to have a shorter stride so their turns can be naturally tighter than the longer, bigger dogs. As for a blind cross, well if your dog is tiny, not all the time but a lot of the time it's easier for you to get in front of them or cut off their angles and get in a blind cross because your legs are longer and you can move in greater distances with each stride than your dog can. That of course does not hold true for all dogs of a certain size, but in my experience it tends to be that way. Sit back and just watch a Masters course sometime, especially a technically difficult, tight course. You'll see that the big dogs are knocking bars and going off course, while the smaller dogs are more accurate and have a better Q percentage. Why? Just because the way the big dogs are built. They have to stop much sooner, turn on a dime and sometimes even put their bodies in jeopardy just to do what's asked of them. The tiny dogs have lots more room because of their tiny bodies.

Thanks, but I'm a bumbling idiot out there most of the time. You just don't see those runs :biggrin2:

Awh thanks! It doesn't always feel so smooth out there

Tomorrow is the Sheltie Specialty! 3 days of Sheltie Agility...can't wait!

Ooooooh! Were?! Make sure to post lots of videos of shelties, shelties, and MORE SHELTIES!!!:biggrin2:
Good luck!:pop

Awesome job!!!

I think we call them throw and go's. We have been doing a lot of those in practices. I don't know if I would have the courage to try it in a trial. Good for you trying something new. You did awesome.
