Puppies on the way?

I don't think most breeders mind hearing from interested puppy homes, as long as you don't abuse it. I've found that an email is less intrusive than a phone call if you're afraid of being a pest. I'd call this time (I think a week is a fine interval) and then email her for updates once a week.

Asking about markings is not too shallow...ask away. Most breeders will choose the puppy for you though, based on the one they think will suit you and your lifestyle best. We try to match personality to people. That's not true of all breeders though; some will entertain your choice once you see them. Usually you can see the puppies once they're three to four weeks old.

I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one to ask about markings. I feel so shallow, but the white on the face makes them look roguish or something. Like, it complements their little personalities.

I can see why, what an adorable boy!

I did the same thing. I waited until right after the due date and then couldn't stand it anymore, haha!

It's hard to tell much from the pic I posted. I ended up caving in and messaging her last night on Facebook. She said she was trying to wait until their eyes opened. She did say that she thinks they all have white on the face. She is SO busy, I feel guilty every time I ask her anything. That's probably just me, she has been very nice every time I've contacted her.

I'm open to the merle (if he doesn't have blue eyes--I prefer brown) but I'm pretty sure she'll be wanting to keep him if he even looks like he might grow into show quality. I asked her for a tri right up front anyway, though, so I'm happy either way. As long as it's the right puppy!

You were right about the wait, Missy! It's very hard :(

now up to my fifth sheltie- all have had blazes. the current four
and Callie, my first sheltie

Here is Cooper. He has a small blaze. The breeder was certain that by the time he was done, there would be no blaze left, but he has a small one.

I'd love to see him as a puppy to compare. I spent part of last night looking at pictures of breeders that have puppy pictures of their current dogs, and trying to compare how much white was left. I know it can disappear LOL. Surprisingly, in many cases it seemed to stay close to the same. But I'm wondering if these pups will lose their white.

Cooper and the Belles! AH! They are so adorable. I hope you don't mind that I also looked at the pics with the little plastic sombreros on their heads. Oh. My. Gosh. Too cute!

Sca has a nice blaze and lots of white. He is a tri color but really the only brown is pretty much his nose

Nice freckles there, Sca! (y) He looks like a cute kid. I love those action shots of him the most, he looks like he really enjoys flyball!

Sca is the good dog and if you get your puppy and want to play he is the guy. He does very well at flyball and again we are always recruiting :-) If you want drop me a line as we will be going to Scottsboro area for a practice Sunday at the Flyball Palace. It would let you see what it is about and a bunch of the people do agility also. Though, no flyball racing before 1 year old (think that is the rule for agility also).

Then there is his evil brother who will be cute and totally have nothing to do with the puppy or you if past visits are still his way LOL.

This is Cooper at a couple of weeks old.

I don't mind you looking at the sombreros. The one of Casey is the last picture I took of him. The looks on their faces show their true personalities. The sombreros are some of my favorite pics of all of them.

Haha, maybe I can talk my poor hubby into driving to Scottsboro. If so I'll drop you a line! NOOO Spitfire has to love us too! He just needs a good talking to, right (and a gazillion treats)?

Ah okay, he still has a very nice blaze now, and it didn't fade too much. Just squeezed in the middle, haha!

If Casey is the cute ball of fluff wearing the sombrero, I HOPE you have it framed somewhere. That one made me giggle the most, it could be a greeting card or something :D
