Puppy accommodations?

I second that. Read those before getting Hanna, and I'd had shelties before, done obedience a few times and read quite a few dog books inthe past. Always good to get a refresher.

I've had my puppy for about a month. Prior to bringing him home, I borrowed an x-pen and a plastic crate small enough for a puppy. I own a larger wire crate, but that will wait until puppy is larger. He sleeps in a baby pack-n-play in my room.

I purchased a small collar, borrowed a small harness, and had lots of toys and chewies around. I have multiple towels that can be rotated as needed for his crate/x-pen. I called my vet and set up the appointment before I brougt the puppy home.

I also prepped my kids on how puppies are babies, he won't be like our other dog, and we have to train him to be the dog we want. Even though I've trained dogs many times, I re-read some of my favorite dog training books as a refresher for what I was getting myself in to.

I'm getting a Sheltie puppy in the next few months and I have been very busy reading about crate training and puppy antics. I want to be ready when our new baby comes home.
Thanks for the link to the books. I will add them to my list to read.

Me too! In fact, just a few minutes ago, I put a deposit on my future fur baby! And I want everything to be perfect when she gets here! I
Want to be prepared and everything!
