Puppy Feeding Schedule!

I would continue with the food that the breeder was using (unless it's worse than what you were thinking of switching to)- breeder can then tell you how much to feed.

Puppy Destin is now 7 months and gets 1/2 cup Blue Buffalo puppy in the morning and 1/2 cup in the evening. Puppies have gotten lunch until 4-5 months depending on if someone was home to feed them at lunchtime....

I divide the recommended amount by 3 and feed that at each of 3 meals. You'll notice the pup will eventually start to lose interest in one feeding and then I would increase the other two and drop the lunch one while closing the gap between the two meals. I also weigh puppies weekly by standing on scales to get my weight, picking up pup and getting our combined weight and then subtracting to get an approximate weight of the pup. It makes it easier to figure out how much to be feeding. If you start to notice that either the puppy is getting to be a chunky little thing or it's stool consistency changes (loose is too much food, constipated is too little ) then adjust by 10%. If you like what you are seeing in your breeder's dogs than I would stick with that food for now. The breeder has probably gone through many brands looking for the ones that their dogs do well on. Good luck with your new charge. Many happy years to both of you.
PS: Sometimes you will get a pup that will eat all you can give them and then some. In that case, by 16 weeks I usually have them on 2 meals a day regardless unless it is a really small pup and can't eat enough at one meal then I would keep it on 3.
