Puppy Mills!

Like most/ all of us here ..we want shelties... I first looked at the nearby SPCA for any and was put on their list.
Most dogs they have are : Pits..Rotties..German Sheps...Boxers...Huskys...Dobermans... and labs....(which are all great dogs)
but ya want what ya want..

SO if anyone in PA is looking for any of the above mentions dogs...they are at the Hillside SPCA.. Im sure they would love to have you as an owner.

I grew up with Rotties and Shelties, would have LOVED to have gotten one this time around. I tend to be, how shall we say it, a push over with animals :o, so I would have not been the best for a Rottie or a Pittie. I do love those breeds very much and maybe someday I will toughen up a little and properly raise one?!:uhoh:

Haha, yes very weird!! My Sheltie Laddie Boy and Sara our first Rottie got along famously and Sara was a rescue! We even had cats, same thing, they got along fine

THE GOVT should worry less about global warming and more about animal cruelty!!! Bring our troops home and put them to work shutting down puppy mills!!!

This website makes me ill. http://sheltiepuppiesforsale.net/ It came up in my search for a breeder when I was looking for a sheltie pup.

It is SO obviously a website for puppy mills to post their very EXPENSIVE puppies. No good breeder would do this. You buy the dogs online from a 1-800 number, and they are shipped to you. You have NO clue where they even came from. Look at the PRICES, $1000-$1300??? And most of the puppies look like HORRIBLE examples of the breed, I feel sorry for them just the same. They didn't ask to be bred. :(

Since I started this thread I have learned a little bit more about Smudge's background, and it ain't pretty.

Not all, but most of PupChannel (http://www.pupchannel.com) is running in an area right outside of Genoa, AR. However, it is part of a bigger operation that is located in Red Water, Texas. Some of the shelties this "woman" have bred have had the weak immune system like Smudge (that causes red mange), very frail bones, and thyroid problems.

This group may or may not be supplying a local pet store (http://www.dogpatchpetshop.com/dogscats_6.htm). The "woman" I got Smudge from breeds several different breeds. Poodles are one of them, and as you can see, poodles are on the front page of their dog and cat section.

If anybody has bought a shetland sheepdog and lives in Arkansas or Texas you are more than welcome to see Smudge's pedigree if you think you got them from somebody shady, or if you are just curious. I've found one sheltie owner who bought a puppy from this group, but I am looking for more.

I want to bring this puppymill down, but I can't do it alone.

Jessica, looking at Smudge's recent pictures, it looks like his mange has cleared up? He's turning out to be a very handsome boy, and I hope he's doing better!!
