I love Asher!

It rolls off the tongue nicely, is meaningful to a merle's colouring and I like the fact that you found some meaning behind the name (e.g. happiness).

Here's one completely out of the blue (pun intended). If I was ever to get a blue, I was going to name him or her Rain. I am from Oregon and the blue coats remind me of the sky when it rains.

Another version of this might be Raine.

Out of the names... I like Asher the best. That's actually on my list of potential dog names for when I get a puppy.

Thanks Danisgoat! It definitely helps make the voting easier. I'm glad people agree with Asher. Raine/Rain is also a cool name. I might use that for a future female with merle coloring I've tried to formulate nicknames out of them and I think Asher allows for the best short name. I could just call him "Ashy" or "Ash". Thanks for the input everyone! Still waiting on those pictures, but I will put them up soon hopefully.

I considered Ash for Ember's name and in fact Birch's sister is named Ash. Ash as I am finding out is actually a common name for a blue dog.
