Puppy showing

Oh, we are well aware of your name only being printed on the AKC papers and never having touched the dog. It was a horrible way to do it, and made no sense at all. I was not aware of the 5 years being dropped. I don't recall even voting on it. The board did that themselves?

Yes, the Board made those changes in 2004. Because they made the changes to their "Transition Document" and not to the by-laws, it did not require a vote, nor did it require AKC review and approval. Slick, eh?

I don't understand what you mean by "breeding requirements" from ASSA? Do you mean to become a member?

no, no, My PERSONAL breeding requirements is that she not only do well in the show ring(despite me) but that she earns an HC or Herding Certifiable from the ASSA A simple herding instinct test type of thing.

The AKC has a "Herding Tested" level, which is basically demonstrating sustained interest, control, and the ability to move livestock. I don't think ASSA has done the HC thing in years. The Collie Club of America does an "HIC", but all that is is getting the first leg of an AKC-HT, or an AHBA-JHD. You just fill out another form and send it in. Might as well get the HT, it will help towards your ASSA Versaitility certificate.
