Puzzling problem…

Totally second Sheep's suggestion of a chiro pracitioner! Mine is also a vet and when Sprite had hip displaysia as a puppy my vet referred us to her first. She diagosed Sprite's hips just by feeling her, before we ever had an xray. A good chiropractor can do wonders, and at the very least tell you what's going on.

You aren't kidding, karma. And WHY do these things always come in bunches?!? It's never one dog, one problem. FWIW I took Misty off her multi protein food and put her on a limited ingredient lamb diet and added a probio supplement for yeast to see if that helps her ears. Stay tuned.

Good luck! I hope Blueberry feels better soon!

So a strange suggestion. If you can find a CERTIFIED chiropractor you might give it a try. When Sca was off race pace by a second we could not figure it out he seemed fine. Vet found nothing. Chiro found he had a LOT out of align. He was super relaxed that night (she said he would be) and returned to his normal self. Racing was a slow progression but that was his trust it was not going to hurt returning.

Oh and the emphasis on CERTIFIED because a rank whanna be could actually hurt her. Good luck and get Blueberry back to normal.
Not a bad suggestion Sheep. We do have one (or we did, I took Finnie to him 5 years ago) so I might see about getting Blueberry in if he has some availability. Problem is he’s way out of town but if I could get an appointment before we get snow it wouldn’t be an issue.

She is feeling much better today, I’ll take her outside on leash so she doesn’t aggravate anything.

You are so right Ann…it’s NEVER just one! When Finnie was a puppy he got diarrhea…couple weeks later Piper…couple weeks later Riley. All unrelated.
Now Piper, Blueberry…fingers crossed nothing happens to Finnie! I’d hate to have to carry him!
All of mine get a prebiotic, and kefir, and fermented vegetables…I’ve added the mushrooms to Blueberry’s food (can’t hurt) and goats milk as well.
Blueberry is feeling much better this morning. Had her cookie, some bone broth, and then I was patting her and telling her what a good girl She was and she was wagging her tail. She’s walking fine…even had a good stretch and is sticking close to me. She rather likes being taken care of…can’t say I blame her!

Glad the little girl is back on her feet. Metacam is a wonder drug for inflammation and pain. I always have some on hand.
I just got back from Dr Renee's for my neck needing cracking. She was so good for Fil for several years. When I got kegged up and had her fix me I had to fill out the paper work. On the spot for who referred me to her I put Fillion. We got a chuckle out of that one.

Little late, but a $10-15 bottle of DMSO is useful to have around.
Between bilateral hip dysplasia and an about missing T2 disc, Boots definately perks up after I apply and massage some in.
I usually get the 99% and mix it down to ~65% to reduce the initial itching/burning feeling that can happen as DMSO is hydrophilic when applied.
Dual use, works for me as well.

I am leaning towards thinking this is some sort of allergic reaction because I have been seeing Blueberry go after a front paw as well recently. I don’t think it’s the food (she’s been on the same brand of raw food now for 5 years) and for the past few months I’ve been sticking more to the pork (the most hypoallergenic meat) with the occasional switch to fish. It’s certainly a possibility they changed the formula and once I’ve eliminated all other possibilities I will consider switching (I did email the company).
I do wash Piper’s bedding (I put a cover on my bed for him) every week so I changed laundry detergent. I have been using the liquid softener in my washer, not for Piper’s bedding but I wonder if it’s possible that this can leave a residue in the washer or dryer that can be transferred to Piper’s bedding…I’ll have to stop using this on my clothes as well.
Also I’ve been buying the same brand of dog cookies (they are a very limited ingredient) for the past few months and I suppose it could be something in them…I don’t have many left so I’m only giving to the other two. I’ve been busy and always doing homemade sometimes gets pushed aside but I’ve decided until I know what it is homemade is best.
I must say I’m worried about how, cold our winter will be as Blueberry’s coat has never been so thick! Even her last bath I got very little fur out of her! That’s the perplexing thing about all this, she has the thickest fur, no dryness to her skin, no ear problems just the paws so if it is allergies it seems likely that it’s something that she’s coming in contact with. Oh and I rarely wash my floors🤣…and I don’t use air fresheners in my house nor do I burn candles, scented or otherwise (I worry about fires) and I haven’t washed the dog beds in months (they’re definitely due). Plus the bath she had 2 weeks ago was her only one since Spring. And this is recent…just within the past 2 months or so.
I’ll just work on eliminating the most obvious possible offenders first…laundry soap I’ve switched to Tide Free but wonder if I should look for either a pet friendly one or possibly a laundry soap for sensitive skin/baby items?
That and doing paw rinses…if it is something she’s coming into contact with this should help reduce the exposure.
And I’m starting her on a medicinal mushroom for skin support…it can’t hurt!
Any other suggestions or do I pretty much have things covered here?

I’m thinking I posted this under the wrong thread lol…this was in regards to her paw, not her limp😂 although they were posted in the same week. Oops…perhaps I should move it to lessen confusion?

Fabric softener does leave a residue- not sure how much actually stays in the washing machine or dryer but you could always run an empty load before washing the dog stuff:winkgrin:
I’m not one to usually use fabric softener…I just hate clothes that have that static cling! I actually bought it to mix in a spray to use on my clothes but somehow it made its way downstairs lol. I do have woollen laundry balls, I need to use them!

Try using white vinegar in your fabric softener dispenser with wool dryer balls in your dryer. Fabric softener is horrid stuff... clogs plumbing, builds up in clothing, dryer sheets gum up dryers. Vinegar is KING of fabric softener... I buy by the case at Costco cuz it does so much so well! Hope you figure out the culprit!
