That all makes sense, Lisa! Wow, two diagnostic mysteries solved here at the same time, Blueberry and Benny....are we in for a spell of good luck, dare we hope?! I'm so glad you found a reason for the paw problem. Things like that are so frustrating when you can't find a reason. Good news for sure, and I'm sending the very best wishes for your Mom, I hope she's improving. Hugs to you.

Thank you so much Ann…she is slowly getting better! Considering Sunday I thought that was it…she was on 15 litres of oxygen Sunday and today they took her off it completely (aside from maybe walking). We’re looking at maybe a week to 10 days more (less maybe if she starts moving more!) …she wants to come home today lol.
Only problem is she wants me (and Piper lol) there all the time so I’m exhausted. Between cleaning the house for her return, cleaning the yard for Spring and spending 5-6 hours at the hospital I’m pooped!
Day before yesterday I took Piper in for a visit and I dropped in with him yesterday for a short visit and ended up staying 4 hours. I was there today from 10-1:30 and I’m heading back for an hour tonight and bringing her an ice cream sunday. The food there sucks and she needs to eat!
I need a break! But then she misses me and I can’t say no to her….
I asked her today who do you like visits from more…Donna or me? And she said YOU of course! I said ok…just checking

Glad you found out the cause of Blueberry's chewing! Interesting.... that snow stuff, you just never know what's thrown in with it.

I hope you mom recuperates well... and quickly. In the hospital for a week, she'll probably go stir crazy. I am sure she appreciates your visits so much and bringing Piper, she must love that! I am sure she misses the dogs terribly. After being ER a few times last year, once for pneumonia and twice for syncope episodes, my dad was in 3 1/2 days (a second bout with pneumonia) and then checked himself out against their wishes. He said all he did was lay around all day and people just flit in and out occasionally, say they will be back but don't come back forever. I said dad... you do realize you are not the only patient in that great, big hospital right? And so yes, you won't receive 24/7 supervision. He was bored, miserable, so he left but now he says he'll never go back... Ugh.
