Oh gosh, I am so so sorry. I can't believe Cranberry has gone. Sweet thanksgiving puppy, gosh I remember back when Cran was born, back in those early days. In a way Cranberry was Sheltie Forum's first group puppy.

    How is Dixie?

Cranberry was just too stoic, Mr D was the same, it is such a shock.

too stoic- that's it. I had no idea that he was in any pain other than his arthritis.......

yeah - everyone did get to see him grow up from tiny puppy to fully grown beautiful sable merle sheltie.

my friend says that the others are doing well and got extra cuddle time yesterday.

With Riley if we hadn’t done blood work and found an issue with his liver enzymes and then ultimately the ultrasound and many X-rays we may never have known either and could’ve just thought arthritis as well. Until his follow up X-ray that showed the advancement we were optimistically hopeful it was just arthritis. If not for taking him for a dental (which he never got because of his liver) we may never have known as well. Don’t beat yourself up that you didn’t know, it’s totally understandable how that could happen
Cranberry had the best life a Sheltie could ever hope for.

That's good. Spitfire totally freaked out when I lost Sca. Hopefully you get buried in a pile of fur when you get back.

I was telling my dog beach friend this morning, that Gavin probably has cancer right now and I just don't know it. Between his sizeable external tumor (probably a fatty tumor) and all the other squishy bumps that I can feel that are getting bigger (like the ones in his abdomen/groin area), it could be any week. All I care about is his huge smile. And he smiles whenever he is at the beach, in his wagon, or is out and about. Gavin has had an amazing life full of love, just like Cranberry.
