Random lameness?

So as I walking Riley this evening, he suddenly went lame in his back left leg. And I'm talkig about holding up rear paw lame and hopping a bit. Then he just lay down. He did go potty in between all this. I was worried, so I carried him back inside and went over all his paws and legs.... No warmth, no swelling, no helping, & nothing lodged in his fur/pads. Once I let him go, he ran over and grabbed a toy  no limping. Now it is about 16 outside and there is snow/ice. Maybe his paw got too cold or some ice lodged in there and melted?

I'm always worried about that leg actually since his paw turns inward a little (hopefully won't effect agility too much.....), so I watch for stifle (knees) and hock and hip problems. Especially since my previous dog (lab) had hip dysplasia.

Am I worrying for nothing?:rolleyes2:

His feet probably got too cold. Justice was limping into the housetonight like he just broken 2 legs and when he got back in the house he was fine. He is a bit of a wimp.

My girls hardly ever do this unless it is well below zero.

Toby did the same thing last night, all of a sudden he started limping badly. I picked up the paw, expecting there to be a big piece of ice between his pads but there was nothing there. I rubbed it a bit to remove the snow and warm it up and he was fine afterward.

It makes sense that Toby has sensitive pads since he spent most of his life in an apartment until recently. I have some booties he can use but I'm sure his paws will toughen up.

Riley's paws will probably toughen up eventually too. Ginny's were also sensitive as a pup but they toughened up fairly quickly.
