Rat poison

Accidents happen to the best of us.

Just as Justicemom points out....it is how you respond that matters.

Hugs and I am sure your boss doesn't mind helping your pups and you out.

Here is the thing with rat poison, if it is good old decon(not a newer generation poison) and you saw or know the dog ate it, you made them vomit and you got them on vit K for 3 weeks 99.999% of them will be fine.

It is when you don't know they ate it, don't seek medical care thinking they seem fine that 2 weeks later you are in a world of hurt. I can't tell you the number of people I have argued with on the phone that they need to make the dog vomit and get them on vit K but they refused because the dog is fine(for now). If they don't want to follow advise why call?

Anyway, you are a great mom. You monitored your dogs enough to know what happened and took the appropriate steps to assure their well being. Accidents happen that's why they are accidents. It is how we respond to them that shows our character. HUGS :hugs

Luckily it was decon! Thank you :) XXX

Thank you! Just super dissappointed in myself!

Actually I think you should be proud of yourself in your handling of the emergency. You did absolutely everything right as soon as you realized what had happened. I doubt there is a single dog or other pet owner who hasn't had some emergency happen and not all keep their heads about them and respond as you did. Give yourself credit!!

I'm so glad to hear they're doing well. What a frightening situation that, as everyone has said, could happen to any of us. Your prompt action is almost certainly the reason it wasn't worse. What a good doggie mom!

Thanks Yall! The poison they got into is a 2nd generation poison. So they will be on vitamin k for 2 weeks and we will check a coag profile in 2-3 weeks
