Recovery suit

how about doggy diapers- less hard to put on and easy off easy on and if there is an accident no problemo-- we used these and they worked well. Our pups pretty much left things alone after about 3 days.

I wish I’d thought of this before I’d ordered a recovery suit! I have quite a few Ann had sent me. I’ll give them a try, they may be easier than the suit to put on. Thanks for the tip woof!

Lisa, I didn't mention that the two suits I posted links for below are suits you don't have to remove or unsnap to take them out to potty. It's one of the things I liked best about them.

Thinking about you and Blueberry tomorrow!!

I ended up ordering a different one Ann…Blueberry was at the tail end (literally lol) of the measurements with yours and I was worried about it being too snug. I could’ve gone up a size but then risk it being too big. The one I ended up with fits her perfectly and has a zippered back and Velcro for the back legs, so I don’t have to remove the whole thing.
It came today and it fits her perfectly (no pictures lol) and was super easy to put on…although she wasn’t too happy!
She goes in tomorrow morning at 8 am and will be in for the whole day, coming home at 6 pm. I also have a donut for her.
Tomorrow I’ll set up her pen and get some yogurt for her, I’m assuming the vet will put her on gabapentin and I want an easy way to give her the medication!

Best of luck for Blueberry tomorrow, I'm sure you'll feel a lot better when they call and say she's done. Hard not to worry when they go under but I'm sure she'll do fine.
Thanks Sharon! Oddly enough I’m not that worried yet but I’m sure I will be tomorrow. I just don’t want her to be in any pain. And of course there will be zero behaviour changes after this (not that Finnie or Piper changed at all) because we aren’t removing her ovaries.
I just remember my last female after she was spayed became so calm. I used to have to muzzle her to cut her nails. After the spay I never had to do that again.
Blueberry will continue to be a little B:ROFLMAO:
Oh well…I won’t have to worry about spotting lol.

I took her in for 8 am this morning and I was out at 8:10. It’s amazing what you can accomplish early in the morning!
I went for groceries, then coffee and then for plants and I was home just after 9:30.
Now I have things to do to keep myself busy with.
I already got her pen ready for tonight…my only concern is am I giving her too much room? The pen is 3 x 3, I used it as her puppy pen and although it’s just over 2 1/2 feet high she never tried to jump out.
I’m not overly concerned, I’m confident in my vet but I’ll be happy when she’s done and I get that phone call!

Just got the phone call at 10:30!
Blueberry is all done! The vet did her first!

Bloodwork was perfect and surgery went well. Interestingly the uterus was distended and fluid filled. The vet feels she would’ve been a candidate for pyometra! I’m so glad I got her done when I did. She also felt Blueberry wouldn’t have been able to get pregnant because it wouldn’t have been viable because of the fluid.

She did put some fluid under the microscope and it was normal, the vet wanted to make sure she wasn’t already infected.
I can pick her up after 3 but I might wait until later.

This is always so much harder on us 2 legged Shelties than the 4 legged ones. If BB is like ours, after a good afternoon sleep she will be up and raring to go like nothing ever happened. Whats the fuss mom???? Glad it worked out well, I have done my share of pacing too...
