So sorry for your loss. Shelties entwine themselves around our heartstrings and are never really go when they leave us.
 
Please don't feel guilty because you were out on the weekend he took ill. Much as we would like to be there when things go wrong we can't predict these things. Balto sounds like a very special friend that was well loved and lead a happy life. You gave him that gift.

So so very sorry for your loss. Balto has his wings now, and when you see him again he will be healthy and restored. The two of you two will run and play just like you did when you were a young girl. Until then, hold him in your heart, he will always be close.

I got my first sheltie when I was 12 years old, so I know how attached you are and what a best friend they can be.

It was very hard letting her go. It took me 6 years to get another sheltie after she passed away.
