No wonder you are frustrated...Sally will follow us around when we are home, and on Mondays ,after we have been home all weekend, she does seem to snooze a good bit...she is 2 1/2,healthy,thyroid supported by replacement therapy. Weight gain and lethargy disappeared after tx. You have certainly looked for help for Abby...you say she is unhappy and doesn't run more than 50 ft. so something is amiss with her . You are a good advocate for her- don't give up.

only after she tweeks herself or after weekends when she is up/down, up/down.....all day. That's when I see the stiffness.

I would trust Dr. Dodds...personally.
My setter was limpy, fatigued, and his thyroid was just slightly off.
Would Dr. Dodds send you a prescription for the medicine based on the results. Shelties, I believe, have different norms than other breeds in regards to the thyroid.

exactly if dr dodds said it was low normal Id treat it as low, shelties are sensitive to low thyroid levels and even with a low normal test on paper they can be exhibiting the same symptoms as another breed who tests in the low needs medication range. Honestly I wouldnt care what my vet said with the low normal I would insist they be put on medication. If not find another vet. Its cost me when I had one on it I think around $15-20 for a bottle of 100 pills.
