I always worry that because Gavin is extra vulnerable with his limp/bad leg/wheelchair that dogs we meet at fort funston or beach would take advantage of him, but so far we have had the opposite happen. Dogs are pretty gentle and people are extra vigilant in making sure their dog doesn't bother him. I have had to reassure owners that Gavin isn't fragile and that he wants to greet other dogs.
If it were me and any dog tried to be aggressive toward Gavin, my first instinct would be to dive on top of him to protect him. Not to hurt him of course but put my body between him and the threat!
Better if I got a bite than our special boy... Just sayin... I feel for Gavin like I did for Mr. Chance... VERY protective...
