Robot vacuum?

I have developed back problems and need a break from the floor upkeep. No vacuum or sweeping allowed for 8 weeks. Can you imagine what the floors would look like - it would be like Sheltie carpet.

Looking at a Roomba Pet, but want to know if it can survive not just pet hair, but Sheltie hair!

Any experience, good or bad?

UPDATE:
Apparently, the 860 has an option with tangle free rollers! I would opt for that in a heartbeat!

We use the tangle free as shown above and it sure picks up more Sheltie (and Aussie) hair than regular conventional vacuuming. It will completely fill up once per charge. About once every two weeks we have to take the rollers, wheel, etc out and remove the hair wrapped around them, but that is a simple 3 minute process.

I do understand you. I'm a working person and it is not easy to keep my house clean, especially with pets at home. So, I decided to buy iRobot. I should say, it took me much time to choose a good brand and model. I was suggested to check the review of two models on https://smartercomputingblog.com/roomba-690-vs-890/ and it helped me a lot. Finally, I chose Roomba 890 and I'm pleased with the result. Hopefully, this information will be useful for you!

I have 4 shelties and a long haired cat. The Roomba is great, but has to be run every day to keep up, and for us, we have to empty it after every time it runs.

It’s a good temporary solution, but we eventually bought a Dyson V8 cordless stick vacuum and it’s amazing. Does a great job, and is super light weight.

We have two dogs and their hair is everywhere. It's terrible.:banghead: For a long time, we have used a stick vacuum by Shark.
Won't always have time to clean up the house, so we decided to buy a robot vacuum. We have consulted with our friends, neighbors and as a result, we chose iRobot Roomba 980. A little bit pricy, but it exercises its tasks. Also, we found the articles about different vacuums (including robotic models). Here they are: cloodjo.com

I hope that I helped you out.
