Aren't you a good mom! My mom handled the boot wipe but that's about it when I brought her along. I'm terrible with jump height- was that training or prelim?

I do like the idea of a soft crate at a show, much better than worrying about them figuring out how unclip the line or escaping the trailer.

She's running Prelim now to my horror. The bank in that photo was Training. I used to turn green when she rode off on Novice courses. It's one thing to ride it yourself; another to watch your kid do it, especially when she's a mother now too. I can't walk the courses with her any more....gives me nightmares.

That's a big reason why I switched to straight dressage with small cavelettis, DH couldn't take the idea of me going over fences without the horse (since I did that a lot as a teenager- usually because of a poorly restarted OTTB )

Thanks! Yes, she's an eventer and does the three phases: dressage, cross country and show jumping. This photo is from a team competition last summer that she won. It's one of my favorite pictures of she and her horse -- an Off-the-Track Thoroughbred that she rescued and trained. She broke her wrist in March slipping on ice while pushing the wheelbarrow and couldn't ride for months so yesterday was her first event back, and she did great, placing in a large field of competition!

Glad she is back in the saddle. I was training in Dressage for a number of years. I always admired anyone who could have the discipline for three day eventing! You must be very proud! So glad she rescued her horse. How wonderful is that!

I was so desperate as a child to be with horses that I found my first job as a groom and excercise girl at my local hunt club! Shelties are now my passion. Have to afford my house now... a horse would not fit into my budget.

Interesting to see how so many sheltie lovers are horse lovers too!
